Just back from my short trip to Costa Rica for Mollie and Ryan’s wedding. Congratulations! I had a fantastic time! It has been so long since I have gotten to hang out with the Liddell family (Lindsay living in Chicago, Taylor living in New York, the rest in Papillion, while I was in Lincoln, I don’t think I have seen them all together in over 5 years!) I am so lucky they included me in the festivities!
It was an adventure getting there. My taxi pulled up to drop me off at the hotel at midnight, when the group had been expecting me around 7pm. It was an extremely long bus ride out to the beach from the airport. That particular day there was an accident on the highway and lots of construction, so the normally 5-hour ride took me 8 hours! I eventually made it there, but it was a long day, and caused a few people some worry.
Besides that small bump in the road the whole trip was excellent. We did an excursion day with zip-lining, horseback riding, and hot springs. There was a lot of time drinking pina coladas by the pool. The day of the wedding was spa day with massages. The first three nights it rained in the afternoon, but the day of the wedding the clouds cleared up and there was a beautiful sunset.
I left my camera in my house in El Salvador on accident so I stole all these photos from Taylor’s Facebook page (thanks Taylor!)
Got back into country on Thursday and spent Thursday, Friday, and part on Saturday at a Peace Corps workshop on the beach here (rough life, huh?) Saturday night I went out with the girls…
So overall, a pretty fantastic past week…but I am back here ready to work once again. This week is the busiest week of my Peace Corps service so far (a workshop, a PC event in Juayua, and the GLOW camp this weekend) so I will be getting a workout. Looks like I am about to earn that vacation!
Ciao!

So who is that cute guy whose lap you’re sitting on? Looks like you all had a fabulous time.So happy you were able to go and have fun. Love and miss you, Grandma
