Hey friends, family, and maybe a few strangers who stumbled on here by accident…
I think it is official to say the rainy season has begun. It has rained in my site every day for a week, so I think this qualifies as the start…yuck.
Honestly, a little rain never hurt anyone (contrary to popular belief I am not made of sugar), but it is just so damn depressing to be soaking wet, muddy, and freezing for 6 months. I have to take a few deep breathes and get in my zen place to remember that I am capable and patient and can do anything so I can gear up for it.
Been busy again. A trip to the capital yesterday to get all checked out…bill of health=clean! Friday is ourMother’s Day celebration at the Nutrition Center. Saturday going to a new volunteer in the area’s General Assambly (that big meeting you have to have when you first get to your site) and Sunday is a regional outing in nearby Ataco, so I will be having some fun during the next few days.
Had a few fun nights in the capital for a friend’s birthday last week as well…

We had lots of fun and lots of English-speaking time. A nice refresher for a few busier weeks coming up getting ready for my Engineers Without Borders team to come at the end of the month!
